I Awakened With My Dark History - Chapter 10
========== CHAPTER 10 ==========
It felt like someone had inserted CGI or special effects into reality.
“Wow…….”
The Mage was momentarily lost in a daze, letting out an exclamation.
If not for this situation, I might have been awestruck by this scenery too.
Flowers bloomed all around me, with me at the center.
Not just the floor, but even the ceiling was filled with glowing, colorful flowers.
It felt as if the cave had been turned into a flower garden.
“The wounds…….”
Of course, flowers weren’t the only ability of this skill.
The Melee Dealer’s deep wounds were completely healed, and even the small and large wounds of the Tanker and the Leader vanished without a trace.
And unexpectedly, there was one more ally affected by this skill.
“The plants are holding onto all the Skeletons and the Dullahan. Leader, let’s strike now!”
Every time the plants were torn or cut, they kept regenerating, wrapping around the bodies of the Dullahan and Skeletons.
The party members, whose situational judgment was much faster than mine, moved immediately.
“Oh flame, arise!”
The Mage, having barely gathered enough mana, summoned fire, and the Leader swung their broken shield to attack the back of the Dullahan’s knees, throwing it off balance.
The Tanker also struck the Dullahan’s upper body with their gauntleted hand, knocking it down completely.
The last was the Melee Dealer.
He shook off my hand and leaped toward the Dullahan.
He drew the secondary sword tucked at his waist and stabbed into the Dullahan’s empty armor, piercing its core.
Ding-dong―
And the same notification sound rang in all of our ears.
[‘Shadow Dungeon’ Sudden Event boss has been defeated.]
[Proceeding with dungeon normalization.]
[Normalization progress 2%]
[Calculating dungeon rewards.]
[Your contribution rank is 1st.]
Notification windows poured out, blocking my view.
Fortunately, I didn’t care about my vision anymore, so I went down to the floor and plopped down.
“It’s over, right……?”
“Yes, that’s correct. Now we just need to head to the exit.”
The Leader approached me and held out a hand.
I smiled awkwardly and took the Leader’s hand.
“That aside, your hair color is really flashy. Silver?”
Ah, shit. I almost slapped their hand away.
The Leader took out the items obtained from the dungeon and made a dismayed expression.
“Considering the trouble we went through, there aren’t many rewards.”
The whole party nodded as if they already knew that fact.
Actually, I could also understand why our rewards were meager.
‘It seems like the Skeletons or Wraiths caught more monsters than we did.’
We only took down a few monsters we encountered, but the Skeletons, Wraiths, and the Dullahan were killing Shadow Cats and Amyeongbok like an entire army.
So, there was no way we could get many rewards.
I swallowed a sigh and decided to be satisfied with having survived.
The others were probably feeling the same way.
“Let’s organize the rewards we obtained first.”
The first was the Magic Stones.
“These are the Magic Stones of the Shadow Cats and Amyeongbok. They are D and C-grade respectively, and there are 10 and 7 of them.”
“There are also Skeleton Bones, Leader. Since they say they can be used for curse magic, I think they’re material rewards for mages. There are thirteen of them.”
And the last reward was a sword.
The sword the Dullahan was wielding.
“The name of this one is really simple. Sword dropped by a knight, it’s B-grade and says it increases attack power by 100% against undead.”
I pulled over the sword I had pushed to the back.
The party members’ eyes widened upon hearing the sword’s effect.
Even if it was limited to when fighting undead, an effect that increases attack power by 100% was certainly surprising.
“We need to distribute this…….”
The Leader seemed to ponder for a moment, then handed the sword directly to me.
“For now, I think it’s right for the Healer-nim to take this sword. If it weren’t for the Healer-nim, we would have been wiped out.”
Is it okay to give a sword to me, a Healer?
When I nervously looked around, the others nodded as if they had no objections.
“Uh, really, me? Even though someone’s sword is broken.”
“What does a sword matter when you’ve saved our lives? We’ll just buy a new sword.”
The Melee Dealer laughed and waved his hand.
The Mage and Tanker turned their gazes away as if they had no interest in the sword.
“It seems like we can take two D-grade Magic Stones each, and for the C-grade ones, after taking one each, the remaining two…….”
Should I take them again?
I raised my hand high.
“Wouldn’t it be better for the person whose weapon broke to take them?”
“Then Tanker-nim and Melee Dealer-nim, you take them.”
As the Leader handed over the Magic Stones, the two accepted them without complaint.
I was worried if it was okay for the Leader to give everything away and not take anything despite being the Leader, but since no one said anything, I kept my mouth shut too.
“I think it’s right for us to take two Skeleton Bones each, and for the Mage-nim to take the remaining three. Since they are magic materials, we would just sell them, but Mage-nim might actually use them.”
“Ah, thank you.”
The Mage also packed the five bones given to him.
They were only D-grade materials, but he seemed quite pleased, gathering the bones into his arms.
“This dungeon raid is complete. The Dungeon Saturation has also decreased.”
We looked up and checked the Dungeon Saturation floating above the dungeon entrance.
It seemed more like the undead killed the monsters rather than us solving it, but since the saturation had decreased, it was a good ending regardless.
The Leader brushed off their messy hair and muttered in a drained voice.
“Let’s disband now.”
I hugged the rewards given to me and scratched my head.
I still had something I wanted to ask, so I carefully raised my hand.
The Leader spotted me immediately and willingly gave me a chance to ask.
“Healer-nim? Did you have something you wanted to say?”
“I’m asking because I assume everyone already knows I’m a beginner anyway.”
I lowered my hand sheepishly and said.
“Um…… how about this item, I don’t think I’ll use it. So I was wondering if there’s a way to handle it.”
And at that moment, silence hung over the party.
At the edge of my vision, the Synchronization Rate flickered erratically.
It was clearly a stupid question.
I put on one of my social skills, a thick skin, and smiled.
Because you can’t spit on a smiling face.
‘Even if they treat me like an idiot.’
Someone was looking at a mobile phone on a beach where bright sunlight was pouring down.
The internet wasn’t working, but it was possible to look at the chats exchanged previously.
Inside the eyes looking at the chat, a golden light resembling lightning flickered.
Kwak.
Someone grabbed his ankle.
He took his eyes off the chat window with indifferent eyes and looked down at his feet.
The person impaled on an iron stake stammered and demanded an answer from him.
“Supo…… Suppor, ter…….”
He brushed off the opponent’s hand dismissively.
“You’re not the only ones who lie.”
He trampled and twisted the contract item that had fallen to the floor.
The ‘Covenant of Oath’ item tore little by little under his foot.
The letters written on it, which were no different from a slave contract, scattered along with it.
“The content of this is always the same.”
Human trafficking targeting people with special skills was always rampant.
No matter how much I stepped on it, it wouldn’t disappear, as if it never got tired.
“This time, and last time too…….”
He muttered to himself, then startled, he touched his mouth with his hand.
The flickering pupils briefly took on a clear black color.
“What did I just say?”
Soon, he picked up the phone again and checked the chat room.
It was a reply filled with annoyance.
Yet, strangely, I kept looking at it.
Why did I enter this chat room?
Why did I pull this person out of here?
Realizing the causeless goodwill toward someone I hadn’t even conversed with, my head throbbed.
He slowly retraced his memories.
Realizing the awakening, checking the skills…….
‘Why did I install the app? Instead of going to the Association first…… why?’
The memories exist but are not clear.
Detached from the memories, the thoughts and feelings of that time did not come to mind clearly.
He clutched his forehead with one hand and groaned softly.
One of the hunters who had been lying down took advantage of the confusion.
The hunter carefully got up and quickly started running along the beach to escape.
The man reflexively reached out his hand.
The pupils, which were flickering yellow again, rippled with hostility.
“This time too…… you all, it would be better if you didn’t meet that person.”
He flicked his hand.
The sand on the beach rose all at once and dragged the person deep inside itself.
“Aaaagh……!”
The scream was short.
The others who remained also sank into the sand, seureureuk.
The pupils that were flickering yellow finally settled into black.
And an error flickered above the skill window.
Cracks appeared over the skill that had clearly existed.
